The Swansea Bay Futures Network has been founded to tap into the passion and enthusiasm of all those who believe in the future of Swansea Bay, and to create opportunities for us to make a difference.
We operate on the principle that by working together we can achieve positive change in the region, without relying on government or requiring large budgets.
We believe that between us we have the knowledge, connections, expertise, resources and ideas needed to promote a more positive vision of Swansea Bay as a great place to live, work, study, invest in and visit. By challenging negative perceptions of the region, and celebrating what it has to offer, we intend to bring about change for the benefit of all our Swansea Bay futures.
HOW WE WORK
The network aims to be proactive and focussed on actions – not just a forum for discussion (though it is that too). We meet monthly to discuss ideas and issues that are important to us, to decide on projects and campaigns to take forward, and agree actions for making things happen. We take an innovative and entrepreneurial approach, and we don’t get tied up in bureaucracy.
We rely on the time and resources that members willingly contribute to take projects forward. No-one is in charge, and everyone is empowered to implement their ideas for promoting the region, with the support of the network. If you think you could contribute, please join us!
The SBF Network is a ‘spinout’ of Swansea Bay Futures, the not-for-profit ‘place marketing’ company established to raise the profile of the Swansea Bay region for the benefit of all those who live and work here. Swansea Bay Futures is managed by a board of directors that meets quarterly, which includes representatives from Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Carmarthenshire councils, as well as businesses and other private sector organisations from across the region.
